Paper Towels & Tissues

Tissue production involves multiple adhesive applications. Laminating plies together (2-ply, 3-ply, 4-ply toilet paper or kitchen roll). Core winding for the cardboard tubes. Pick-up adhesives for web handling. Tail-tie for finishing rolls.

Non-woven products (nappies, feminine hygiene, adult incontinence) use similar processes but different adhesives because they’re bonding synthetic fibres rather than paper. Absorbency and softness can’t be compromised by the adhesive choice.

Multi-ply tissue and kitchen roll need adhesives that don’t compromise softness or absorbency. Web handling uses pick-up adhesives with just enough tack to control the paper without contaminating machinery, and tail-tie adhesives secure the loose end of finished rolls. Non-woven products use similar processes but need skin-safe formulations since nappies and hygiene products contact skin directly for extended periods.
