Puzzles and board games are made by laminating printed paper onto cardboard backing. You need an adhesive that bonds reliably but doesn’t make the board too stiff to cut properly. Dispersion and jelly glues work well here – they give you the working time needed for positioning and don’t interfere with print quality.

Automated equipment needs consistent viscosity to run smoothly, but some operations are still done manually and need different handling properties. The adhesive choice depends on your production method.

Registration accuracy matters – if the printed sheet shifts during laminating, you get white edges when pieces are cut. Automated laminators handle this with pneumatic clamping and tension control. Manual operations need adhesives with enough open time to adjust positioning before initial tack develops. Storage humidity affects puzzle piece fit, so the adhesive can’t contribute to dimensional change.
