Rigid / Luxury boxes

Rigid boxes are what jewellery, cosmetics, and other premium products come in. The packaging is part of the product experience, so construction quality matters. Corners need to be crisp, covering materials perfectly aligned, and everything needs to feel substantial.

Magnetic closures, collapsible designs, sleeve-and-tray constructions – these all need precise adhesive application. The boxes often travel long distances and get handled repeatedly, so structural integrity matters as much as appearance. Standard carton adhesives don’t work here.

Production typically involves multiple adhesive types in one box – structural adhesive for the rigid framework, mounting adhesive for decorative papers or fabrics, and sometimes contact adhesive for formed components. Automated equipment applies beads precisely, whilst hand assembly needs longer open time. Jelly glues dominate European production because they give repositioning time and strong final bonds without show-through.
