Envelopes

Envelopes involve several different bonding jobs. Side seams hold the envelope together. Windows need clear film attached neatly. Then there’s the closure – remoist (lick it), self-seal (squeeze it), or peel-and-seal (strip and stick).

Each type uses different adhesive chemistry. High-speed converting lines need consistent performance, and postal services have requirements about seal strength and reliability. Business mail and direct marketing have different needs again.

High-speed converting lines need consistent adhesive performance without jamming inserting equipment or causing premature sealing. Side seam adhesives need to handle being folded and stressed as envelopes are filled. Window film attachment requires neat, invisible bonding. Moisture resistance prevents closures activating during storage and transit.
