Versatile adhesive for side seam bonding and window patching in medium-speed envelope production. This formulation combines reliable bonding across multiple film substrates with good mileage characteristics for cost-effective manufacturing.
The white adhesive offers good mileage characteristics, providing economical coverage across production runs.
AQUAPAL 4138 has been formulated specifically for medium-speed production lines where the extreme rapid-tack requirements of high-speed systems aren’t necessary. This optimisation allows the formulation to focus on other performance characteristics like bond strength, mileage, and cost-effectiveness.
The ability to bond reliably across different window film types gives manufacturers sourcing flexibility and allows them to respond to customer preferences for different window materials. Whether using traditional glassine or modern polyester films, the same adhesive delivers reliable results.
Good mileage characteristics mean lower adhesive consumption per thousand envelopes, directly reducing material costs. Combined with low maintenance requirements that minimise downtime and labour costs, AQUAPAL 4138 provides an economical solution for volume envelope production.
AquaPAL 4138 provides side seam bonding and window patching capability for envelope manufacturers operating at medium production speeds. This adhesive provides excellent wetting and bonding across the range of window film materials whilst maintaining good flow properties for precise application. The formulation creates strong, durable bonds that maintain envelope integrity through filling, postal handling, and delivery processes. For window patching applications, the adhesive wets out film surfaces cleanly without bubbles or haze whilst providing optical clarity that allows address information to show through clearly. The good mileage characteristics result from efficient coverage properties that allow slightly lower coat weights whilst maintaining the bond strength needed for reliable performance. Low maintenance characteristics result from clean-running rheology that minimises build-up in application systems.

Use appropriate personal protective equipment when handling this product, including protective gloves and safety glasses. Maintain adequate ventilation in work areas to control vapour exposure. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. If skin contact occurs, wash thoroughly with soap and water. If eye contact occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention. Keep containers closed when not in use and store in cool, dry conditions away from heat sources. Consult the Safety Data Sheet for detailed safety information, including emergency response procedures and environmental precautions.
AQUAPAL 4138 should be applied at ambient temperature using properly maintained application equipment. Full bond strength is achieved after 24 hours of drying. Protect from freezing as this can cause permanent product damage. Stir well before use and periodically during production runs to maintain uniform distribution. Clean equipment with warm water whilst adhesive is still wet to prevent difficult dried residue removal.
